AKE Safety Equipment Attends the Indiana/Illinois Farm and Outdoor Power Equipment Show


This week, AKE Safety Equipment will be attending its last farm tradeshow of 2013. It’s been quite a busy year for us as we attended over 50 shows! December 17th to 19th, AKE will be a vendor at the Indiana/Illinois Farm and Outdoor Power Equipment Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds West Pavilion in Indianapolis, Indiana.  This is the 35th year for the show, which as grow to over 170,000 feet of exhibit space! Over 16,000 people attended the event in 2012 and the crowd is expected to be just a big for the 2013 show. Agriculture is the #1 industry in Indiana with the state being 2nd in production of eggs, 3rd in hog farming, 4th in corn production and 5th in soybean production in the country.

There will be over 320 vendors attending the show this year. The Indiana/Illinois Farm and Outdoor Power Equipment Show is a great opportunity for farmers and vendors to speak one-on-one and get tips for next year’s planning and harvesting. According to the show manager, Richard Sherman, the show will shine the spotlight on the latest information on technology and agriculture including information on using “the cloud” to enhance farm production and high-tech machinery. There will be a special emphasis on new tractor technology such as tractor in-cab displays and design control changes.

AKE Safety Equipment will be at Booth 33A showcasing STOP FYRETM, The World’s BEST Fire ExtinguisherTM. Tractor and farm safety is only one of the services shared by vendors at the show. There will be vendors showing the latest on short line, seeds, supplies, chemicals, livestock equipment, grain handling, storage, buildings, and replacement parts. Plus, tractor manufacturers John Deere, Case, and CAT will be available to discuss the best new technologies in self-propelled sprayers, seed tenders, and outdoor power equipment.

There will be free seminars throughout the two days of the shows. Gary Truitt of Hoosier Ag Today will be speaking about “Planning Straight in an Uneven Economy” both days of the show. Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor, Sue Ellsperman will speak at 11am on Wednesday, December 18th. There will be seminars about the importance of grain bin safety as well as taxation, legal, financial, and regulatory issues that affects farmers.
