Today Allen took the time to stop by a local preschool to visit with the children and teach them about fire safety. Allen’s focus was about teaching the kids not to be afraid of firefighters in the event of a fire – do not hide…they are your friends trying to help you. The kids got to interact with firefighter gear and ask lots of questions. Allen also gave them an assignment – go home and check your smoke detectors to see if the battery is working. He sent them home with Home Fire Safety Surveys so parents could check their homes for fire safety.

After months of classes and physical training, Allen Kronebusch has now completed all fire training and graduated from Firefighter I and Firefighter II. Allen is now officially a full-fledged firefighter of the Oronoco, MN Fire Department. This is a great benefit to AKE customers as he brings his 20+ years experience in the fire safety business AND his firefighter training to the customers of AKE Safety Equipment.

This is a significant event because it’s one thing to read something from a trade journal or hear about it in a business discussion. It’s very different to spend the time and energy to really learn about fires and fire safety – to see it, smell it, and feel it for yourself. The 32nd annual Fool’s Five Road Race was held in Lewiston, MN on April 11, 2010. AKE donated a Monster STOP-FYRE unit to the auction that was held on April 9th. Proceeds from the auction and race benefit cancer research at the Mayo Clinic, Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, and Lewiston Area Cancer Support Group.
