About the ‘Social Media & Online Community” Digital Marketing Assistant:

Are you an early adopter with the experience, energy, and inspiration to build and direct the social media and community development strategy for a consumer product company? AKE is searching for an entry level Social Media and Community Digital Marketing Assistant, based in our Rochester, MN. We need a social media guru who understands the social and community development landscape as it stands today. They should be able to nimbly navigate changes as they continually arise. The ideal candidate will have experience building an engaged community for a consumer product company (agriculture experience is a major bonus), while also using social media and various community techniques and tools to generate demand.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute social media marketing strategy for AKE
  • Grow the AKE community through social media pages
  • Define and establish KPI and monitor and analyze data from various social and traffic analysis tools and use it intelligently to shape ongoing strategy
  • Work in concert with broader AKE marketing efforts to fit social into company-wide plans and campaigns
  • Assemble weekly data reports on what types of content perform best and why
  • Assess and develop strategy for building AKE community internally, through existing commenting and blogging platforms
  • Utilize social platforms to build greater influence and following in the industry
  • Understand AKE’s core audience and reach that audience through the careful selection of content with highest potential for engagement
  • Be the voice of the brand to grow traffic, expand brand reach, connect readers with content, look for the conversation starter in our stories, and use it as a lead to spark conversation with our audience
  • Work with Business Development and related teams to grow relationships with audience and third-party vendors/partners
  • Create community and build real-world and digital events designed to grow social audience and engagement through contests and giveaways
  • Constantly stay on top of Social Media trends, techniques, developments, and algorithmic changes and analyze their effect on AKE’s strategy
  • Partial responsibility for local event photoshoots optimized for Social Sharing
  • Some video and photo editing

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Be data driven and experimental
  • 1-3 years of relevant digital marketing and social media experience is preferred, but not necessary
  • Understanding of and experience with incorporating owned, paid, and earned media plans into social efforts
  • Use of a DSLR camera
  • Light video editing Skills (for social media use)
  • Demonstrable experience of communicating across major social platforms
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Some knowledge and expert understanding of paid social tools such as Social.com, Facebook Power Editor, Ads Manager and others
  • Proven knowledge of paid media, tracking, paid display, content and platform expertise
  • Deep knowledge of the viral web and what drives social engagement
  • Experience using social scheduling and analytics tools (Buffer, Hootsuite, Facebook Insights, Pinterest Analytics, Google Analytics, and Audiense)
  • CMS experience (SalesForce)
  • Great customer service and communication skills
