The Start of Tractor Pulling Season

Tractor Pulling Season

Memorial Day Weekend is the “unofficial” start of summer.  It is time for picnics, barbecues and time with family and friends.  The weekend is also the start of the tractor pulling season, which runs from the end of May to the end of August/ beginning of September.  Once again for the 2014 season, STOP-FYRE TM, The World’s BEST Fire Extinguisher™, has been named the official fire extinguisher of the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA). AKE Safety Equipment  has also partnered with the Iowa State Pullers (ISP), Missouri  State Tractor Pullers (MSTPA) and the Nebraska Bush Pullers for the 2014 Tractor Pulling Season. There are events and competitions all over the country from smaller local events to grand championships.

Tractor pulling competitions are very exciting to watch in person and you can hear the roar of the engines from miles around the tracks. However, tractor pulling can be a very dangerous sport for the drivers. The engines are under extreme pressure as the weight is increased on the sled during the pull. The extreme pressure can cause engines to catch on fire, which can then ruin the tractor and cause thousands of dollars in damage. It is very important that all safety precautions are considered for the tractor drivers from roll-over bars to special braking systems. One of the most important safety items in the cab of the tractor is a fire extinguisher.

The STOP-FYRETM fire extinguisher is a vital piece of safety equipment for tractor pullers to have in the cabin of the tractors. It is compact, mess-free, non-corrosive, which means that it doesn’t hurt the equipment, and helps to minimize damage to the tractor during a fire. Tractor pullers want to protect their equipment and the large investment that they have made for their tractors. Keeping them safe and working correctly during a tractor pull is extremely important.

AKE Safety Equipment  wishes everyone a safe summer! We’ll see you at various tractor pulling events throughout the summer. Check with our blog  for all upcoming event information.
