Gigantic Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall and One Death Noted

Do you own a Kidde fire extinguisher? If so, then we have something important to tell you.

The consumer product safety commission has recently announced a recall of Kidde fire extinguishers for failure to discharge and nozzle detachment; this has resulted in one reported death. There have also been 391 reports of failed or limited activation and 16 injuries. If you own a fire extinguisher from this company, read closely to see if you have a faulty model and to learn what you can do about it.

Which Models Have Been Recalled?

This recall involves two types of fire extinguishers. The first one includes 134 models of plastic handle fire extinguishers which were manufactured between January 1, 1973 and August 15, 2017.

Surprisingly, this recall also involves models that have been previously recalled back in March 2009 and February 2015.

The second type of fire extinguisher Kidde has recalled is their push-button pindicator fire extinguishers.

Look below to see what models, as indicated by the Consumer Product Safety Commision, need to be replaced:

What Should You Do?

The Consumer Protection Safety Commission recommends calling Kidde and asking for a replacement right away. Here at AKE Safety Equipment, we want to give you all the facts.

A fire can cause thousands and even millions worth of property damage. It can cause injury and also fatalities, which means you want the best product possible when fighting fires.

Our company has created a new way to put out fires which don’t require you to replace your fire extinguisher every year or to shake it on a monthly basis. You buy it once and that’s it. You now have a fire extinguisher that is refillable and guaranteed for life (which no other fire extinguisher company is willing to do).

Our product is superior to dry chemical fire extinguishers in many ways:

  • Unlike other fire extinguishers, the STOP-FYRE is non-corrosive,
  • There is no cleanup necessary after using the STOP-FYRE,
  • It only requires one hand to use and is so simple a 4-year-old can use it,
